The Mathematics department at St Bede’s is an exciting and forward thinking department. We believe that mathematical learning is life long and so in addition to preparing students for success in exams we develop problem solving skills, as well as those of team work and organisation. Mathematics contributes to the school curriculum by developing pupils’ abilities to calculate; to reason logically, algebraically, and geometrically; to solve problems and to handle data.
About the department
The Mathematics department at St Bede’s is made up of six enthusiastic, specialist teachers. We strive to ensure that every pupil reaches their full potential in mathematics.
It is important that all students are well motivated and enjoy learning the subject; they develop a sound understanding of mathematics so that they can transfer their skills to other areas of the curriculum and everyday life.
